At the centre of each Scrum is a small team of people called the Scrum Team. The Scrum Team is made up of three key accountabilities which include the Scrum Master, the Product Owner and the team of Developers.

The Scrum Accountabilities used to be called Scrum Roles but since the publication of updated Scrum Guide in 2020, these are called Accountabilities. The purpose of this change was to place special emphasis that this is not a job description, but the bare minimum set of accountabilities necessary to execute Scrum. Another Change was the term Developer to replace the Development Team as it was defined before in the 2017 Scrum Guide.
